Not bad for a 73 year old Type A personality with a competitive nature. No meds either. O2 saturation was 96%. Resting heart rate when I wake up in the morning is in the high 40s. On the bike I'll zing myself up to the low 150s (in the old days it'd be 180+).

I attribute it to the following; 1) having a great wife who is easy to live with, 2) 30 years worth of hardcore road bicycling (and before that 20 years worth of running), 3) minimal alcohol use and finally, 4) never smoking.

Now, if I can just get rid of my aches and pains and skin damage from all the sun exposure....

Well done Scott. I turned 73 March 12th. Given all the mistakes I've made, I am in pretty darn good shape. I think we all envy your cardio commitments; I know I do. Sue has me walking in the 'hood by our house mornings' she's 10 years younger and has energy for days... You know La Rinconada tennis courts and creek trail. I have zero excuse to be sedentary.

I’m 56 and since having my right kidney removed last November I’ve been keeping a very close eye on my blood pressure. It was very high before my surgery (in the doctors office it once hit 180/120!) but since then it’s typically right around this, and with no blood pressure medication

Very good. Hope your health holds up.
Me too! I’ve had a lot of skin cancer issues, including two melanomas and three squamous cell carcinomas in just the last 18 months. The sun from all the cycling has caught up with me. I wore sunscreen but during endurance riding I’d sweat it off and not reapply.

Right now my right ankle is causing me major issues for some reason. I’m probably going to get a steroid injection. I’m giving my ankle two more weeks to behave itself. Got an X-ray of it earlier today. Arthritis I suspect.

It may be gout
Go have your uric acid level tested
I would want it < 6 mg/dL, but normal is <8 mg/dL
Fructose consumption is a culprit.

Good genes. Next time I'm going to pick different parents. 51 had a heart attack never smoked or over weight. Roller bladed 3-4 times a week. 3 days before hoofed a 7 story building with a bucket of hand tools to the roof( elevator was broke) didn't feel any worst than normal. Drove 1200 miles over two days then it me getting out of of truck in 95° texas heat. Mothers brothers all had heart problem and my father a bad back which i also have.

Im still overweight from my cancer treatment last year, but down 30 lbs since Nov 2025.
Im still more than I weighed in my life getting close though but will keep going until I am down another 25 lbs.
My wife's Apple Watch alerted her to hypertension. She recorded a few weeks worth to bring to her first cardiologist appt. So ...

Anyway, for the heck of it I checked and entered my BP for a few days and was pleasantly surprised. Also recent doctor visit they were impressed stethoscope method it was 110/70

These are my own for a one week period. It will get even lower as a lose more weight right now while I sleep my HR on occasion drops into the high 40's other wise the 50's I too do cardio and will run my HR into the 150's and typically top out, slow myself down in the 160's briefly.

Looks like 4 days of readings before my coffee in the morning. One day was right on the borderline. Im 69 and do have CVD. No meds except a baby aspirin a day. Range 102 to 120 and 69 to 83 This blows away any of the males in my family, I learned not to do what they did to themselves and also I guess some luck?

Posting this post at 1:30 PM my HR is exactly 70
Apple Watch records daytime resting rate when you have a period of inactivity these are my numbers, does not include my sleeping HR which is a different set of numbers.
Below, resting heart rate taken during daytime periods of inactivity. Typically can be early evening. Since this is a screen shot you of course can't click the arrow to see the exact time.

That is a high dose!! But whatever it takes. Do you do a diuretic also?
I e3at lots of fruit and was able to get off of my diuretic.
Not taking any diuretics.

Most sources I've read say that 20-40 mg/day is a typical maintenance dose for lisinopril.

I take mine twice a day (10 in the morning and 10 in the evening).
