I absolutely love this guy's driving skills and Ruf 911 Turbo. The guy is not wearing any safety gear and driving it to the limits.

That car looks like its set up with 3 degrees of toe out on the back tires...
Great car control though, otherwise he'd be dead...

Great car control. It's crazy how light and twitchy the steering looked with all that weight over the rear wheels, not to mention the power. The car looked like it was actively trying to get him killed!

I've spent many hours watching Nordschliefe videos on You Tube. Never ran across this one, though.

And another addictive YouTube thrill: search for "Group B Rally" or "Walter Rohrl".

As a 1951, a 1956 and a 1967? SC Porsche owner, I remember with glee when Ruf drove the Yellow Bird to a record of 111 MPH. The Porsche YELLOW BIRD didn't have a turbo. Ed

This is a guy out having fun. He's going fast but he's well within the limits of sensible fast driving on an appropriate road, not just a regular public road.

Now that was some kick butt driving. He certainly knows the car and it's capabilities intimately and is driving it as well as it can be driven.

Thanks for posting.

You don't think he was favoring his right side more than his left?
Not that I'm anywhere near his talent, but I favor the opposite him. Seems he doesn't want to crash on his right side but isn't afraid to completely mess up the left.

I find I don't want to prang the side I'm sitting on, though throughout my accident history I'll nail the left without fail.

Having driven on the ring with a much less capable car (and driver), I can say that while the motorcyclesare faster on the straights, they are very much slower in the turns. So much so they were slowing me down and I was in constant fear of running over a fallen motorcycle driver.

I just don't go on anymore if I notice a lot of motorcycle drivers....

I wasn't impressed at all. It looked bouncy and unstable. I don't care for Porches.

I remember when that car was new, and made headlines around the World for it's then-incredible (and still impressive) performance.

It would be interesting to see what it could do on modern tires.

Likewise, Sportbikes have improved dramatically from those mid-80's and older bikes seen in the video.

Thanks for posting that.

Turtle,

You would probably [censored] in your pants if you were in the passenger seat.

LOL
