Black Friday Purchases you’d recommend

Tools are a good purchase @Creekside

Rant in: Other junk? more stuff not needed soon bound for the storage unit. And people complain about costs.

aside: I could use a 50" smart TV so I can move away from Xfinity which is ridiculously, no, obscenely
expensive. It is also hard to do sound these days without HDMI ARC . Never heard good sound from toslink.

And no, I am not buying a filter cutter - though I have some not often seen gems and O.E.s waiting on a shelf - and no elf!

I return you to the show currently in progress.

Someone posted this Kobalt tool deal from Lowe's in another thread. Looks good to me.

And this Flex 2 tool combo looks like a good deal, also at Lowe's.
I was looking at for a replacement drill for my old Makita. I looked at that Flex kit a couple of days ago, the drill is by all accounts decent as is the 160W charger, the impact driver is their entry level and reported to be under powered. Notice they include 2.A batteries which are 28650 cells, these don't provide long run times like a stacked lithium, Lowes no longer even sells these batteries.
Upgrading to a decent battery is expensive, a 2.0A is $99, the 3.5A is $179 and the 6A is $199, not looking like such a great deal anymore.

Dewalt has kits with power stack batteries for a bit more money but they are a good deal, a few months ago I bought the DCD 800 with a 5A and 1.7A power stack for $199 inc a charger. HD sells just the 2 batteries for $227.

Finally broke down & bought a new duck canvas lightweight Carhartt jacket from Blain’s. My old lightweight one was ~15 years old, bottom of sleeves gone, pockets repaired with iron-on patches on the inside, dark blue faded to almost gray. My Christmas present to myself, $35 off.

Save your income and invest it. Buy only necessities.
I agree to an extent. I have a lot of investments. What I purchased allows me to have a set at home and at work which keeps me from having to carry a bunch of stuff back and forth. I have carpal tunnel in both wrists so I’m really expanding what my cordless tools can do.
