I just sold some things in the For Sale section. I shipped everything to 5 members here. Then they send me a check after they receive their "stuff". Some would say I'm crazy trusting folks on the INTERNET. Well I think folks are honest. All five sent checks. See....I was right....BITOG members are honest

Well after all, you've got their address and strategic coordinates. You could always send them a cruise missile if they didn't pay you.

I've only had one guy - tried (no success) to scam me here (long ago, no longer a member, so don't ask). But really, relative to the universe this is a pretty good bunch of blokes.

One site when I first became a dealer....guy scammed me for well over $100. What an idiot (me!) Canadian guy, Montreal. He had some gall - he tried it again. I at least told the cops, his mail service, his PO rent-a-box, got him booted from his ISP, etc. It was a training session for me!

I have yet to sell anything on eBay. The few auto manuals I've sold were advertised in the specific auto forums.

Each transaction was a success. Of course, they sent the money first. Sarge, you and I wouldn't dare stiff the buyers, lest they come back and slam your good name on the web site.

Most of us are beyond those games of ill gotten gain. It's just too easy to be honest ..not worth our time. Some still think that you can get away with stuff as a lifestyle ..and those types just don't hang out here. It's a developmental thing that happens in adolescence and some just never get beyond it.

We do have the smiley side of humanity residing here.

ive been soured by internet sales. i lost a $150 camera to a jerk who files a credit card chargeback. this was on ebay. she ended up getting to keep the camera, got a full refund including the shipping cost too.

i lost the camera, lost her payment, lost the money i spent on shipping the camera, and was charged with a $30 chargeback fee.

since then, i dont trust people online. maybe i would trust you guys. i have bought and sold things from you guys before.

I think a website like this tends to draw a different crowd of people-a more creative, more honest, higher integrity sort of group.

There are other websites that draw a different kind of crowd.

So far I have never had an eBay deal go bad. Then again, I don't think many scam artists are out there trying to rip people off for $15 Ford Ranger mud flaps.

I like Craig's List since it is local and trades are done in person. Never had a deal go bad there. Just be sure to meet at a common, open place (mall parking lot). That's where I bought my Explorer.

Your check was sent yesterday. Priority mail... my fault for forgetting to send it out earlier. Thanks for trusting us. I'll have to admit, I'm not sure I could do what you did to sell the items.

I've had some ebay deals go sour, exactly like what ACiD had happen to him, except with a $100 playstation 2 steering wheel. They sent it to me and it didn't work, and was missing the cables. It was advertised as being brand new but it wasn't. They refused to give me my money back so filed a claim with paypal and they told me I had to send the item back to the original seller and provide a tracking number, which I did. PayPal then said that my tracking number was "invalid" and that my claim was then null and void, and could not be resubmitted. So I was out a defective steering wheel, $100, and the ~$25 I spent on shipping it back. Sucks.

On the other hand, every transaction I've dealt with here has gone smoothly
