Best Tran/Hydraulic Fluid for 1974 Massey Ferguson 135 Perkins Diesel

Also, I wanted to add that NAPA (at least around me) is running a special on the Delvac Tractor Fluid through the end of the month for $70/5 gallon pail. These days that seems to be a decent deal for a name brand oil that isnt the manufacturer's specific offering.

I read the discussion "Massey Ferguson 135 - What hydraulic oil/spec?" but am still not clear on what weight fluid to use in my newly acquired '74 MF 135. I just got the manuals on CD and read something about "mineral oil" under the Hydraulics section. I have a '48 Ford 8N and a '68 IH Farmall 140, but am new to Masseys. Thanks.

Any transmission/hydraulic fluid that meets Massey's permatran 3 specs (many do) is what you are looking for. As far as the injection pump leaking, it is normal for the seals in the injection pump cover to start leaking over time. Best to take pump off and take to a injection pump service shop for new seals. The low pressure fuel lines will have olive rubber seals that you can replace.
