I concur with everyone else. The Michelins are awesome. For a cheaper alternative though, what about General Grabbers?

For a bit more that the Genearl Grabber's, the Firestone Destination LE/2's actually rival the Michelin LTX M/S 2's in customer reviews. But, in this size WOW, tires are expensive! Makes me glad I'm not buyin'em

The tires that came with my Sorento have about 19k miles on them but they are terrible in the snow. I'm fighting the urge to order a set of LE2's to have them installed this week / weekend.

I would never have mis-matched tires on a decent vehicle. Buy 4, or buy 2 the match your good 2 now. Then, rotate. All tires should wear the same if properly cared for.
To me, best bang for the buck is slightly used tires that are in good condition. Go to a scrapper yard, and take your pick. The cars are there typically because of problems with the engine/body/etc but not because of tire problems. You should be able to tell a good tire from a bad one, though. Look at the date code on the sidewall. Don't buy tires that are more than 4 years old. Count on forking over $20-25 per tire.
I gather your Blazer is 4WD? For best life of the powertrain, take a flexible tape measure with you and choose tires that have the same circumference as the tires you still have on the car.

General grabbers would be my second choice to the Michelins.

Yea I found that out today when tire shopping. I had to settle on some Falkens because they had the closest circumference to what's one there.

I have run(in years past on older cars) 2 different tire brands & styles, front/rear. As long as you're paying attention to your driving and conditions, you'll be just fine. I never really noticed anything amiss! My BIL does this all the time on his 2000 S-10 2WD. Often, 2 different sizes front/rear!
