Best Oil for Supercharged Jet Ski?

Just bought a new Kawasaki Ultra 250X Jet Ski.
250 hp. so quite powerful and fast.
Manual says 10W40. Can't quite figure out what type of oil to use.

What are some recommendations? Thanks.

Hmmmm ... supercharged engines are always under a bit more stress than their normally aspirated, or even turbocharged brethren.

Don't skimp on weight (by trying an XW-30) and go with an oil that uses a lot of EP/AW additives: Schaeffer, Amsoil, myabe even Red Line, etc ...

Yeah, that Amsoil Marine formula looks like a good candidate.

Also, they tend to put a lot of fuel in the oil. I would be running Amsoil and changing often.

Any more thoughts on this subject?

And somewhat unrelated I'll be putting it in the water for the first time in 2 weeks? Any thoughts on proper break in? Manual says go easy first 5 hours however there has been controversy on how to break in properly.

Does this ski have the same issues with the sc clutch like the sea doos do?
Sea Doo actually prohibits the use of synthetics as engine oil in SC models, but it is allowed in NA 4-strokes.

Does your manual say anything specific other than 10-40?

As for break-in, I'd probably avoid full-throttle holeshots and limit wot runs to short durations. I would avoid towing wakeboards, etc if this model is set up for towing.

No SC problems. It's been a pretty good motor I guess. One issue however is "gas in the oil". Seems to be a problem with the ocean guys who race.
Manual only says 10W 40, no mention of synthetics.
