Best method to Seafoam?

I'm confused about which is the best method to Seafoam. I've heard to spray it into the intake (Deep Creep) while idling or while at 2,000 rpm and I've also heard to put some into the chambers through the spark plug holes. I've heard to let sit for 10 minutes and I've heard for 3 hours. I'm trying to get rid of any carbon build-up on my ring packs, what is the most effective way? I know there are a lot of posts and I've read them, that's why I'm confused.

I would do both. Do (2) through brake booster, using correct method and (1) using deep creep (with car off).
