What is everyone finding to be the best Mag Aluminum Rim polish out there for protection? I am going to do a full detail on my new truck before we get into the SALTY snowy Chicago days. Ive always used Meguiars but didnt know if there is a readily available better option. Thanks for your help.

Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. You can get it at walmart or any autostore

I like Meguiars Hot Rims Mag and Aluminum Polish. Smell is tolerable, unlike the 3M Mag Wheel Polish which works well but stinks.

If it is a new truck your (factory?) rims will be clear coated. Do NOT use Aluminum/Mag polish on them or you'l dull the clearcoat. Normal paint sealer will do just fine.

Gotch

Sorry im new to having a luxurious vehicle. lol. Are you saying to just put regular wax on the rims then?

Yes, just put regular (your favorite) car wax on the rims. Even machine finished factory rims have clear coat on them. Just treat them like your car paint.

Good point. I hadn't considered that these were factory wheels.

And most people wouldn't run raw alloy wheels in a salty environment anyway, unless they were a glutton for punishment.
