What would everyone`s opinion on the best high-performance 20W50 be if you like to drive fast and hard. Whether synth or dino.

AMSOIL SAE 20W-50 Synthetic Motor Oil would have to be the best but it all depends on if you want something you can buy over-the-counter or if no cost is a concern.

Redline by far the best, but since Redline has a higher HTHS, you can go 10w40 (Redline site says you can go one grade lower with their oil).

VR1 certainly good stuff.

Amsoil or Synpower should be great, but I would want added zddp in these (VR1 and Redline have a lot more zddp).

Well, if it was just one pass then that's one thing, but repeatedly? In S. Texas? Street and strip? 20w50 is what I'd run as well.

Hi Tallpaul,
I made a search,I can't find the zzdp of the Redline 20W50.How much is it?
By the way,I can't find any better than the 20W50 Mobil V-twin here in Greece.

Exactly what I wanted to hear Rob,thanks!

Amsoil 20W-50 has a HTHS of 6. It is loaded with anti wear, anti foam, anti scuff, EP, noack of 3.89

rust preventatives. This is the oil most used by the local Kit Car folk.

I already have a case of Royal Purple 20W50. I`m going to go grab a case of Valvoline VR1 20W50,and now I`m wanting to buy a case of Amsoil 20W50. But it does make sense, especially seeing how fast motor oil prices keep going up.

Kendall GT-1 20w50 isn't too bad... .110 Zinc .100 P or so it says on the MSDS.

I ran in a small block chevy with no zinc additive and not problems.
