Ticking for the fist few seconds after a start-up is usually because the ADBV leaked ... not from the filter being "restrictive". Some vehicles are way more sensitive to a leaking ADBV than others.

This is where I feel the OEM base end bypass vs. the dome end bypass comes into play.

Even my dads Ford with less than 30k seems to prefer MC over anything else.

The 3.8 rattles pretty bad with a WIX surprisingly, but it is "parked" for me time being.. Next OCI (whenever that may be) I am going to run an "oversized" FL400s.

I had the same ticking problem with pure one on a 95 Cadillac Seville and that filter is strait up and originally the ac delco pf-58 back in that era did not have an anti drain back valve.
