Best Duratec 3.0 Oil?

Hello all...just purchased an '07 Fusion SEL V6 (3.0 Duratec). Factory fill MC 5w20 will be changed at 1k, then switch at 5k to synthetic.

I've seen good reviews of Mobil 1 0w20 and mixed reviews (mostly positive) of Mobil 1 5w20. I've also heard good things about Pennz. Platinum. Any suggestions or used oil analysis that would pertain to me? (I searched but didn't come up with much)

In Texas the Mobil 1 5w20 would be perfect.

Heck, I have the same engine in my Taurus. Stick with the MC 5w-20 or TropArtic version. PP is also good if you can get it cheap. No need to waste $$$$ on this bulletproof engine like I did in previous years with M1. I'm currently running TropArtic 10w30 in mine, which will be changed over to 5w30 this weekend (since it's snowing tonight).

I've used Mobil 1 0w20 in my Mazda6S with the same engine as yours, and with great results. It doesn't always seem to be available in 0w20, so i use the 5w20. The only thing i've noticed with the 0w one is the engine seem to rev easier.

I've used Mobil 1 for the past 10K in my 2001 Taurus 3.0L DOHC V-6. This engine loves Mobil 1.

5w30 used for initial 3K OCI and 5W-20 for current 7K OCI plus Amsoil EA011 oil filter.

In a few weeks I'll be changing to Mobil 1 0W-20 and new Amsoil filter for regular 5K OCI from now on.

In fleet service we find that the Fords do as well with Motorcraft 5w-20 as they do with Mobil 1 5w-20. We have not tried the Mobil 1 0w-20, and the oci's are 5k miles. You can use Motorcraft 5w-20 with confidense, it is a good oil. There are others, too, but at the price, Motorcraft 5w-20 is a good value.
