I know everyone on here would prefer synthetic oil but am curious to hear everyones opinion on the most popular dino oil. If there were no synthetic oils which one would buy?

Best conventional oil for what? Vehicle, vehicle age and condition, vehicle miles, conditions, weather, driving habits, trip lengths, loads carried? Not enough information to even approach an answer other than to hear someone put forth their favorite. And favorites are sometimes based on advertising, pretty labels, and the sage advise of a friend or mechanic.

i would have to agree with lonnie.. your everyday normal driving most conventionals will do fine up to 5k miles.. some even more. you have to factor make of car also. hondas and yotas arent to harsh on oil whereas some others are very harsh on oil.

Depends. Ya can't go wrong with Pennzoil. I have used it for 20 yrs. Great results.

In other words the preferred conventional motor oil. Vehicle does not matter just want to hear what everyone would buy with out buying a synthetic motor oil but I'll throw in my 500 horse '93 Ford Mustang 302 small block and a example if would help.

I change my oil every 2 months like so I'm not worried about mileage. Mine is a weekend car so 2 months might not even see 100-200 miles. I just change it anyway once it is 2 no more than 3 months. Changing oil is like a religion for me.

boy you are wasting time and $$.. lots of it too.. in a motor like that syn would do you fine on up to and perhaps past 5k miles.. but since you like to change the oil before it even lubricates everything just pick a conventional GTX, Valvoline, Havoline.. whatever.. lol every 200 miles haha.. man thats crazy.... seriously look at a syn and move on with your life there is more to do than change the oil.

You vehicle is not exactly a mainstream ride. Pick an oil and get a couple of uoa's to taylor your oil selecion to your specific conditions. What you learn may be of use.

My personal belief is that every conventional oil that's SM rated is a very good oil. But i've only used Havoline and Valvoline (for years) so those are my choices.

I'm not so sure about that. If I had a 500 horse Mustang, I'd be inclined to constantly pump clean oil through it too.

Your title says best, your opening sentence says most popular. Which one do you want? I you want to know the "best" then you really should define "best". If you're looking for "most popular" then set up a poll and tally up the votes for each one.

100- 200miles is clean oil man.. its your $$ bro do whatever you want but if you wanted to save $$ change it every 1500 miles lol..

It is supercharged. I want to know what some people think is the best dino oil in which I can automatically assume which one is more popular to answer someones reply. I like the keep fresh clean oil going thru my blower and motor so I do not consider it a waste of money in my opinion.

I change frequently not because I question an oils ability. I just personally like to keep fresh oil in the motor. As long as an oil can protect some serious revs and heat while its in my motor thats what I care about. LOL
