My best experiences come from Deka.

Also, just because a battery has a certain brand on it does not mean it is made by that company. Some of those Group 49, 95, and 94R (found in many expensive European cars) are made in the same factory in Spain, and just have another name written on them.

Also you need to check each time you buy a battery. Got a MAXX at Walmart (Exide) for my Jeep, it failed, took it back and this time the MAXX for my Jeep was made by JCI. This was in the span of a year or two and at Walmart's 50 miles apart in NY.

I know that Walmart no longer uses Exide as a supplier for their Everstart brand batteries. I'm not positive but I believe Johnson Controls is now the sole supplier for that brand.

Currently, I run my car on an 8 year old interstate megatron. Though it tried to die around the 5 year mark to the point where it wasn't turning the car over in the morning. Tested at less than 200CCA at that point. I took the "maintenance free" vent caps and added water to it. After that I overcharged at a low amp rate. Tested 50CCA short of its new rating after that. Now I check the water every 2 years on all my maintenance free batteries
