Best Air Filter thats not Paper?

What is the consensus on the best non paper higher flow air filter? I had an AirAid 5 layer (4 gauze, 1 synth) filter and did notice better performance from my engine vs paper. The problem was my used oil analysis. While silicon was the same as when I used paper; Iron, Tin, and Chromium all showed higher wear.

Those high wear metals aren't the fault of the air filter, probably the fault of using API rated SM oil.....

I just scored a couple of the Fram Synwash air filters, but haven't run them enough miles to report yet.....

Actually the oil in question was SL. German Castrol GOLD 0w-30.

Sorry about being critical about what I didn't know, VW-MAN. (I'm not a fan of SM oils.)

I still think the higher wear metals are due to something else other than the air filter though. I'd think the silicon would have to be higher if the problem was indeed the air filter.....?

I've run my new Syn-Wash filter for a couple days now, and am impressed with it's quicker throttle response. The 'seat-of-the-pants' feeling is much better compared to the old paper element. (The paper element was of unknown age, however, and was grey on the intake side, not clogged by any means, just a little dirty.....)

The FRAM AIRHOG, but that's not a consensus since I seem to be the only guy advocating this filter.
