Beck Arnley and Mann

Beck/Arnley could be made by anyone depending on what car it's spec'd for. But with their reputation, it should be something highly decent regardless of who they source it from. That said, there's no reason to get a B/A specifically since they are not common and are probably not cheap, either.

White can Mann filters are just Purolator Classics. Black can Mann filters are made in Europe and should be very good. But again as above, they are not common and are probably not cheap.

You should be able to find good or great filters for a common car like an Accord pretty much anywhere, and cheap.

I found a BA oil filter on ebay for my Sonata at a pretty good price. Under $5 shipped. The oil filter was made in Korea, just like the OE filter, but there were some minor cosmetic differences between the BA and OE filter. It's on the car right now, but I plan on cutting it open when I'm done with it.

In the States, I've seen the white can Manns at some very decent prices online. Up here, the black cans are readily available online and in person for the European applications at a nice price. I'd use the BA filters without hesitation, but I've not found any reasonably priced.

The Mann for my moms accord, i picked up today, it was black, but said made in USA. Is there any way i can get a European made one? looks just like a Purolator.

Id like to go the BA route for my friends 2012 Kia Optima. Ive been using the Kia oem filter for warranty purposes, but the dealer is a 45 mile drive, versus Advance auto, which is about a 4 mile trip and i can order a BA from there. Would the BA for the optima possibly be made by the same company, and would it be safe to use? The kia dealer i go to is also a Mitsubishi dealer, and I noticed one of the Mitsubishi filters, made by Denso, is idenical to the Kia and one of the parts guys told me it should work fine, but hesitant for warranty purposes.

You may not find one, unless it happens to have a cross to a European application. When it comes to Bosch and Mann, you'll notice that the part numbering scheme is totally different for European applications and North American/Japanese applications. For metal canister filters, run something like a 1991 Audi 200 Turbo on the Bosch and Mann sites, and then try something like my G37, and you'll see what I mean.

Fortunately, at least up here, my online source charges next to nothing for both types. German Bosch (or Mann or Mahle) for the Audi was always under $5, and Bosch Premium for the G is the same.

I'd certainly be up to trying a BA, but finding one here makes it a bit of a fool's errand.

We stock black can Manns for all the German cars that we service. Very good filter.

stephen 9666, did you notice any startup noises or anythin with the BA filter, or does it seem to perform like the OEM Kia filter?

picked up the BA for the accord today, looks to be well made. It says made in Korea on the box, and on the filter itself it has Korean writing and just says OIL FILTER. any idea if its made in the same place as the kia filters?
