I was quite impressed to show up at Walmart auto service at 4pm and asked to replace my battery which was hurting (4 times per fully dead in last two weeks). 20 mins latter and $93 poorer I was back on my way.
Some locations are better than others. I've had Walmart put new tires on my GTI without issue while I've had a few issues with Discount Tire. It's management and having enough competent employees on staff.
Glad to hear the good portion. I too had a great experience at Walmart. That doesn't happen often. But, I certainly appreciate it when it happens. How do you like Walmart Batteries?
Good to read of your positive Walmart Tire and Lube Express experience. As noted, experiences like this can be store, store management and employee dependent. Be that as it may, can't complain about 20 min. for battery purchase and install. For ~$93 thinking it may be an Everstart Maxx with 3/5 year warranty? Several group #s that price including 24F and 35.
Nothing wrong at all with having them do it. There are days where I would have someone else do that too. On my rough days I would not really be up to much of anything. But on my good days I can kick rear end quite well.
Last oil change I had done at Walmart ( 20+ years ago), they jacked up my oil drain bolt and put a bunch of blue sealant on it...said it was to protect it from leaking...
now, I have bought many a set of tires from Sams Club and they usually are pretty quick in getting you in and out..my main problem is they have the mechanic come in and try to run the cash register..
