Bad washer pump?

So my Mom asked me to fill her washer fluid, since it wasn't spraying anymore. So I do and it takes less than a quart.
So, Im thinking its froze. I shined my light down at the tank and it looked fine; not bulged out like it had froze or something.
So I grabbed the key and turned it on, pressed the button and...nothing. Wipers work, but I dont even hear the pump. So I pull the manual out and check the fuse. Its good. So, now Im confused. Its wither a wiring issue, bad switch or a bad pump. I have not really looked, but I was hoping someone here might have an idea. Maybe if this is a common issue for her car or something?
Its a 2009 Fusion SEL V6.

Smack the pump and see if that gets it spinning

Its not easy to get to, but thats a good idea for when I pull the fender liner this friday.

Get a wire and hook it straight to the battery and see if it comes on.

Or pull the connector and test with a DVM while someone activates the windshield washer.

Yeah, smack it if you can get to it. If it fires up, then you'll know it's the pump and not frozen. But, it'll fail again soon!

At different times, both my Lexus and my Altima washer pumps died during the winter time. Both were cheap to replace and easy to do but, man was it cold out when I did'em! Both cars inner wheel well plastic liners had to be unscrewed and move away enough to do the work. Not that bad really! Would have been better in warmer temps

I used universal pumps made for each vehicles application. Just had to cut the wires. I used those(don't know what they're called) little oval crimps with the lube in the holes. Didn't even have to strip the sheathing off of the wires. Just place the wires in the holes(making sure the colors matched) and crimp it with pliers... DONE!

Thats your best bet to see if the pump is good and tell you if your switch and wiring is good or bad.

Smacked it and it started working. Guess I need fo invest in a new pump.
