Thinking of getting one for the wife's car (don't ask why :-( )
Anyone have any input, what's good, what's not, what should I look at spending?
Thanks.

I had some after market ones installed on my '05 Avalon, put the beeper in the trunk and it was loud enough to hear in the front seat. I did not get the kit with the optional blinking interior lights. Worked fine. Can't remember the manufacturer but I got them off a web page I found on Google.

I installed the Audiovox PSB100 system in my dad's F-150 early this year...that rear bumper's a long way from the driver on the SuperCab and kids can easily disappear from one's line of sight when behind the truck. Seems to be working well so far. On Amazon or eBay for $50-60 USD.

You search engine of choice should turn up multiple options and reviews. For my dad, I wanted something that was low/no visual impact in the cabin and wired. A system with only an audible warning fits the bill perfectly.

You might want to get a backup camera. The camera is mounted above the number plate and attached to a transmitter that is powered by the reverse gear light. The receiver is inside the screen and is powered from the cigarette lighter. Basically, no wires running from the trunk to the front of the car.

It works well - my uncle has one in his truck.

something very similar to this.

I believe they make backup cameras now with the monitor on the sun visor.

Sounds handy to me.

Meh the smart ones get out of the way.

Problem is people get to used to them, and they don't always work.

I have a backup camera on my Acura MDX. I still don't trust it yet as I have no context of its limits.
