The past few days the "back" button on my mouse and the "back arrow" on the page doesn't work as it should. It often takes three or four clicks to make the page go back. This is the only site i seem to have this problem with.

Any thoughts on what the problem might be.

Thanks Smoky

Are you using Firefox as a browser? I was and had problems similar to your experiences on other sites. I switched to Chrome and all has been well since then.

Right click on your back button and see what is listed. Mine list something about platform.twitter.com/widgets

Explorer v8 and have the same issue. Hit back twice and it will work; sometimes right click to use back won't work. But I've been having to restart Explorer more often lately, it just gets flakey.

Do you have any toolbars installed?

I get that too. Usually, I get something related to google. I get it when I'm on other sites as well.

It's rather unnerving.

I get the google redirect also, and I don't even use google. I think it is a virus, but I haven't found anything free that will detect it.

I am using Firefox 14 and have no issues with the back-button, right click and/or left click. Doing so sends me back one page (left click) or shows me recent surfing history (right click).

BTW - I keep all my Firefox Add-Ons and Extensions disabled except for for my McAfee Security, Shockwave Flash Player and Ad-Block Plus. Not sure if that's the reason for my right clicks being different than other Firefox users.

Also, my computer is seven years old and has a ton of programs and applications listed. But I only have five items in my Startup (System Configuration Utility) check-marked.

I run a tight ship with my Windows XP Dell Machine.

Yep. It's your browser "blocking" one of the ads or "elements" on the page.....your browser sees it as "another page" in your history that you've visisted. Are you using a HOSTS file at all? Actually, you may be, and not even realize it....I know Sypot S&D has a Hosts file feature that puts "blocklisted domains" in the hosts file to re-route them to localhost, to stop them from loading :P

To get rid of it....you can install edexter from pyrenean.com or Hoster from FunkyToad and it'll stop this back button issue.

It's either that, or just "deal with it" (the back button problem).

This has been documented at http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hostsfaq.htm#Button as well....Note: It is not BITOG specific :P

FireFox user here and no problems with the site or back button.

Sorry for the lack of info. I'm using IE9 and my mouse has a special back button, but I get the same results if I'm using the back arrows.
If it was a matter of 2 clicks I'd put up with it, but sometimes it's 3 or 4.
