BTW dave, how to you manage to get so much junkware on your computer.
Kid using computer to play games.after i removed Babylon,it hasn't come on anymore.

I'd have a look at Returnil, http://download.cnet.com/Returnil-System-Safe-Free-2011/3000-2239_4-10704691.html
because no doubt your going to run into other issues with your kid downloading games from the internet. Simply rebooting the PC,will remove any spyware, etc. I've used it in the past, works awsome.

Sandboxie would probably be a good idea too.

Heck, at this point I'm thinking an OS that isn't Windows might be a good idea

Yep. Dual boot linux and windows would probably be his best option.

Wonder if he's running Vista or 7? I wouldn't want him to do a dual boot using GRUB2 as the primary bootloader if so since Windows updates can sometimes hose the MBR as far as a dual boot linux setup is concerned.

I suppose someone could walk him through how to do it using EasyBCD to modify the bootloader. Of course that requires a basic understanding of partitioning so you can put GRUB2 on the "boot" partition you create for linux.

Your knowledge of it is over my head, lol. All I know is that when Windows 7 started aggravating me on my old computer, I put Ubuntu on it with their Windows installer and it always gave me the dual boot option on start up after that. I'd use Ubuntu when I needed to do things and just went into Windows 7 to grab files I needed.
