Hey guys I just added B-12 CHEMTOOL to my gas tank but I also use it for intake cleaning, do you think the product is too harsh to use in a gas tank? I have been succesful cleaning carbon deposits with this tool, thanks.

No offense, but aren't these questions most wisely asked BEFORE putting the stuff in your vehicle, or before buying it for that matter?

That said, I used B12 when I was living in a place where I could not buy MMO, and it always seemed to work for me as a fuel additive. Worked especially well in grungy lawnmowers and other small carbureted appliances.

I think using-up gas additives in tank rather quick on a long distance is both safer and more effective. Despite it is a strong solvent I wouldn't expect a problem since dilution ratio is 1/128 vol. max.

How would it be used for intake cleaning? I need to clean some suspect carbon build-up in the chambers and intake manifold. Do I just tee it to some manifold vacuum as in water injection?

vacuum hose yep. course in a 4 cyl you can just pour down the plug holes to clean the combustion chambers. chemtool isan entirely different beast than mmo. It will dissolve things much quicker. That being said, in a gas tank properly mixed it is no prob.

hmm, thanks... What if I spray inside the plug holes. Do I need to change the oil ASAP or would the rings hold it up? How long to allow it there? Never did cylinder soaking before...

No, you shouldn't need to. The stuff in Chemtool should burn off in normal driving. It should knock off whatever it's going to in just a minute or two. Some people go for 15. The best way to do it is to cut the fuel by pulling the fuel pump circuit and depressurizing it by cranking the car until it dies. Then do the soak, then turn the car over to burn off the remainder...THEN reconnect the fuel pump fuse.
