Automotive trim adhesive tape

One of the door ding strips on the Xterra's door is coming loose and I'd like to put it back on one time. Any recommendations on really good automotive trim double stick tape? I realize prep is key. thanks

I'd use an adhesion promoter on the ultra-clean finish and 3M VHB transfer adhesive. The latter comes in clear, grey, and black.

This is good advice.
But thinking maybe a few drops of super glue gel would also work?

I've always used the 3M Super Strength Molding Tape without any regrets.
