automatic transmission - Question

What i did ?

I went to connivance store ..
I left my car running ...

But I left my car GEAR ENGAGED on D !!
I had Emergency Parking Braking ON ..

i wonder how bad is that for transmission ?

Car in D but not moving ? ( Emergency Break was keeping it )

I guess when Im at red light and use normal brake there is some clutch working right ?

but with emergency brake ?

could i over heat transmission fluid or something ? i was around 20min in store ..

i still cant believe that i did it ..

I don't understand what you're concerned about. Like you mentioned, when you're in D and at a red light, it's the same situation. There's no cluthes slipping, it's the torque converter. Torque converters have a stall speed. At a certain RPM, they won't "slip" anymore and no matter how hard you hold the brake the car will either move or turn off (not really slipping but for simplicity). I wouldn't worry about what you did.

It's all the same whether it's the brakes, e-brake, or a wall holding the car still.

Well it IS Canada, so the snow is probably flying up there by now.

This is scary that this person is on my side of the border LMAO. First question is why would you leave the car running for 20minutes even if you hadn't left it in drive? 2nd question, where did you get the weed you were smoking? You FAIL! lol
