Auto-Rx maintenance usage and AW additives

I have suddenly become curious about something in relation to the use of Auto-Rx for anti-sludge maintenance and the metallic antiwear additives commonly used in engine oil.

If ARX (or any other sludge-deterring agent for that matter) is used as a preventative, will it have a tendency to counteract the function of certain antiwear agents, perhaps more specifically the molybdenum-based ones? I don't know enough about such chemistry but it seems that if an additive is used that holds off sludge on engine parts that it may have the same effect on AW additives.

Auto-Rx cleans metal it does not remove oil additives. In fact clean metal properly lubricated can extend the "Mean Time Before Failure Rate" of oil lubricated rotating parts. Woo Hoo!!

Auto-Rx finally put out a brochure that any one can read and understand. It's nice to see some thing for the average Joe, that is not mechanicaly inclined to help them with their car mantinance. This spell's everything out in plain old English!!!!

Is my brain wired differently? Or wouldn't it of been easier to understand if the directions said something like:

Directions for cars under 100,000 miles

1. Change the oil filter, add bottle of AutoRX and drive 1500 miles.

2. Change the oil(non-synthetic) and filter, drive 2000 to 3000 miles.

3. Change the oil and filter. Done.


Directions for cars over 100,000 miles.

1. Change the oil filter, add first bottle of AutoRX and drive 1500 miles.

2. Change the oil(non-synthetic) and filter, drive 2000 to 3000 miles.

3. Change the oil(non-synthetic) and filter, add second bottle AutoRX and drive 1500 miles.

4. Change the oil(non-synthetic) and filter, drive 2000 to 3000 miles.

5. Change the oil and filter. Done.

And if my directions are wrong, it's further evidence that the supplied ones aren't clear enough.

Thank you for the response, Frank. It was real early in the morning and the cogs were turning- I thought perhaps an anti-sludge agent might prevent an AW additive such as moly DTC from adhering to metal parts, apparently it ain't so. Guess some more coffee might have helped me, who knows...

I think I just might put that Auto-Rx that I PROMPTLY! received, in my Civic this weekend.
