Hi all...great forum here.

I applied ARX to the engine oil sometime ago and forgot to start rinse cycle at 1500 miles. Went 3000 miles on the cleaning phase and am now 1800 miles on the rinse cycle.

Any ideas on what I should do seeing that I went over the recommended 1500 miles cleaning phase.

Thanks.

I am sure you did no harm. Everything should be fine. Was the oil unusually dirty when you performed the last oil change? Did you notice any improvement in the way your engine runs?

The oil was very dark (than usual) and not runny as on previous oil changes that I've done. On the current rinse cycle the oil is as clean as if it was just done. I will run the rinse cycle to about 2500 miles then do the second cleaning.

The vehicle is a '95 Ford Aerostar 4.0L with 168k on the motor. I wil be switching to Amsoil Synthetic when completed.

Thanks for the input.

I am experiencing the same thing. On my 97 4.0L Aerostar with over 200,000 miles, the oil that came out after first ARX cleaning was darker and "different" looking (has had 95%+ synthetic oil during the 200,000+ miles than regular change. Changed out with Coastal 5W-30 and after 1,200 miles on "flush" the "dipstick" oil looks brand new.

Is this something others have found?

Extend your rinse cycle to 2500 miles to compensate for 3000 cleansing miles. You will
have " brought" Auto-Rx application back into
good ratio's. No harm done

My dipstick also had a brownish color to it which has completely disappered after the cleaning phase.

I've heard some good things about Auto r-x and am now witnessing it first hand for myself.

Again, very great forum here and thanks for the all the replies!
