My Trooper has the dreaded consumption issue and it is getting slightly worse at 63k. After reading and researching on this site I have decided to run some Auto Rx through it next oil change (2000 miles off). It says not to use it with synthetic (which is what I have run in it since 10k for the most part). Why is this so? I have heard that the Rx has esthers that would conflict with those in the synthetic. Now I can somewhat understand the no-syn during the cleaning and rinse phases, BUT the site also said to run conventional oil with a maintenance dose of Rx afterward to maintain the gains you had made. Now why is this so as it makes no sense, at least to my meager brain? I thought syn lubes were great cleaners if used religously.
