Terry... is "soot" the same as insoluables?

You have seen my gasoline UOA for my Mustang and Grand Am, and you had noted that the level of insoluables was rather low. Is this consistant with your "liquid filter" theory?

novadude, soot is one component of insolubles and yes the use of Auto-RX for you has lowered the insolules and or solids levels in your gasoline cars.

I know we have a lot of diesel engine owners that are on this site; could any that use Auto-RX in a maintenance dosage please let me know how it has affected soot levels.

My liquid filter theory of Auto- RX may have the very beneficial attribute of containing/dispersing soot while solublizing the soot to a level that reduces soot induced wear with very little Auto-RX being required in the host oil.

Any responses to this request please post here, references to UOA would be helpful too.
