Smart, as (pretty much) applied here and especially applied on so many devices out there, is not a word. I'm sure they want you to think it's a word, like "clever" or "intelligent", but it's not.

It's actually an acronym.

Sustainability.
Monitoring.
Assessing.
Rating.
Tracking.

It's eased in slowly but surely mostly for "convenience" but also for "safety" and of course "oh, look at that high tech, i want that".

Cue in the people who think they're smart(the actual word) and call me paranoid or that it's a conspiracy theory.
