The "good" chlorinated is CRC is 05089 or 091314 (the latter being NAPA)

DO NOT touch anything that says 50 State or Low VOC - that's all hippie stuff

Red cans DO NOT necessarily guarantee chlorinated although a LOT of parts guys don't know this, so ignore them and look at part numbers.

We have a lot of "paper wasps" here and I enjoy killing them so I've kinda made a science of the Brakleen stuff. I also hate paying for hippie cleaner that evaporates into a mist before it even gets to winged offenders OR my brakes, so I'm carefully tracking what works and what is EPA water in a can.

Also worthy of note is that even a miniscule droplet of this stuff just GLANCING most typical house flies, black flies etc will kill them or at least partially disable them so they wind up circling on their back.

If this is still going on, you will be good with three cans of wasp spray. Just be ready. One in each hand to start, when they run out, take 3 seconds to analyze and be ready with the 3rd.

For those that find in-ground yellow jacket nests, I'd say 5 cans. 4 for day one and 1 for the next day follow up. Always try to do this about an hour before sunset.

I was in my backyard and discovered a yellow jacket nest and was swarmed in seconds. I want some advice on getting revenge against these beasts. I have a can of wasp spray ready to go, but was thinking about getting creative with this.

LOL! As I was grilling on this past father's day, I didn't realize there was a yellow jacket nest under the base of the grill until I got stung twice in the ankle! I'm allergic to bee stings, but thankfully not quite epi-pen allergic. My brother-in-law knowing this, says. "Hey.. uh.. Can you get the grilling done BEFORE you drop please?" I laugh now. My ankle and foot was a mess for 2-3days which is standard for me after a sting.

light a bag on the end of a pole, stick it under the nest...only takes a couple of seconds. It burns their wings off but they are still alive, use the larvae for fish bait.

In the past I always used bleach for in the hole nests. Gas is cheaper and apparently effective. I got about 8 stings from that one **** nest. 3 On the ear hurt like he (hockey sticks).

If they are in the ground pour warm soapy water into the hole at night. Very effective. If above ground spray it with hornet killer at night or very early in the morning. They are lethargic in early morning.

When my son was 13, I took him out to dinner private property to shoot shotguns for the first time. There wasn't much to shoot at, we were getting creative. We saw a large wasp nest up in a tree, both looked at it and smiled at each other...

He had a .410 single shot and I had a 12 ga. We were about 40 feet from the nest, counted to 3, and fired. We just stood there looking to see what happened, expecting the nest and wasps to be totally annihilated. After all, we had shotguns and they were just bees. It was a few seconds before we realized that many survived and they were coming after us. I remember us running and later laughing, I think we each got stung once, but it was no huge deal. One of those things we talked about for years.

I should have used a full choke.

Chemical Warfare. This puppy can spray almost 20 ft and has a “ high pressure” warning.

Called in an air strike this morning. Ordinance was Wilson One Shot Wasp and Hornet Long Shot with 0.2% Tetramethrin and 0.125% d-phenothrin.

Strike was from high pressure airborne can at 48 inches. Satellite photos indicate over 50 casualties plus over 100 dead larvae. No mercy.

The old school way is to hit the underground nest with gasoline. If you want to get creative, then throw a rag soaked in oil and gas on top and light that beauty.

Called in a second air strike. This time on the west side of the roofline. I noticed a few wasps entering a recessed outdoor lighting fixture between the bulb and the trim. Oridinance this time was Raid Max foam wasp killer. Gave it 5 minutes and then followed up with One Shot Liquid streaming spray. They didn’t stand a chance. Three wasps immediately hit the ground. When I lifted the spring loaded trim ring, a ton of dead wasps fell. Using a wooden paint mixing stick I unloaded six wasps nests that where inside the sheet metal enclosure of the electrical socket. Total body count confirmed by satellite: 80. You can see the grubs have morphed into young adults. Mission accomplished. Warning: Photos could be disturbing to some.
