ATF flush with a SNAP-On flush machine

The mechanic finally did a flush for me for free after the flush I had done 3 years ago somehow did not get the Amsoil ATF into the AT as expected (but unknown to me).

To his surprise the machine will auto stop with 3 QTs of new fluid left in the new fluid container. He pumped all the new fluid out of the machine and filled it with Amsoil ATF then did the flush.

And the filter was done a month ago so I should be good to go for many thousands of miles.

Consider a used oil analysis sample at 30k to see how your fluid is holding up with the Amsoil, your driving style, and the transmission condition.

Did you change the front diff ATF also(if equipped with diff drain/refill plugs)?? This is commonly overlooked on various Toyotas that use separate front diff sumps with their FWD automatics.

I would seriously consider a permacool, magnefine, or similar ATF filter kit if you simply want to 'forget' and not worry about the transmission. OEM filtration is a joke.

The front diff. ATF was changed a little while ago when I had the filter done.

Given that they found 3 qts remaining in this expensive machine, when one has a flush done, unless prior vehicle uses same type of ATF, one is likely to get a few qts of the wrong ATF in your vehicle with a flush. I will bet that no shop pulls out all the ATF from the new fluid container before starting a flush.

This is true..At the place i used to work we had different flush machines for different fluids..so we never had to worry about cross contamination.

So what would you do if a customer brought in a case of Amsoil ATF for his flush? I assume you did not have Amsoil ATF in a machine?
