Looks like the Lucas MV and Castrol are Dex3h type fluids. So not for newer cars. But still good deal for older vehicles and steering pumps that use ATF.

None of these are. The closest would be the Lucas Multi-vehicle. But it's a high viscosity not low like ML and most other newer trans fluids.

Nice! I've totally used that in Dex VI applications. Of course at this point Dex VI isn't anything special and any semi-reputable company should be able to put out a decent LV

Ok, my first box of Lucas ATF came in....er, well sort of. First it came in an Amazon box like so:

Inside is a Lucas box that has been through the ringer, looking like it's just been shipped between businesses (ie not like a Warehouse Deal return situation)

It's clearly part #18002 which is 10W30

Now, I don't think there's a scam going on here -- just incompetence. The question is if I keep the 10W30. It's still about $2/qt and I can use it. I know Lucas is mostly smoke & mirrors but I believe it is suitable as motor oil, just nothing-special motor oil.

I be ok with $2 a quart motor oil as well. But I do a little mechanic work on the side so will not last long.
