AT&T tech support... unreal

We deal in AT&T and Verizon at work.

AT&T provides 94% of our biggest headaches.

On the dealer SOFTWARE, their own phone activation software, the dealer has to LOOK for loopholes and catches. My first major f-up? The kid came in wanting to buy an iPhone 4, the software said "CONGRATULATIONS! You are eligible for the iPhone Standard Offer and we will waive the $36 upgrade fee." Terriffic, I thought. I process the sale and activate his phone. I go to ring him up in our POS and instead of $99 it charges him $380 for the phone. What the fudge? Turns out AT&T pro-rated his plan into the original price of the phone. He was not eligible after all, even though AT&T never said that. He wasn't paying full price ($699), but he wasn't paying the 2 year contract price, either.

Needless to say he was not happy, returned the phone, we reversed his contract, and we were out a $700 phone (it burned up the SIM therefore rendering the phone inactivateable) and one customer less. The whole ordeal too 3 hours and I had veins popping out of my head I was so stressed from it.

That's happened in different ways more than once. So yeah, AT&T and I don't really have a good relationship.

Why not call ATT Executive Offices.... the same place that the CEO Randall Stephenson has an office at.

Somehow I cannot believe that Mr Stephenson has NO clue about the outrageous experiences so many of HIS customers go through. But yet he still makes his tens of millions in salaries and perks.
