I still have mine. Maybe one of these days I'll have to get it out.

I had a version of that called the Marx-A-Copter probably around mid 1960's I had 2 sisters but I think they were busy with Barbies or whatever. I managed to wear it out anyway.
Yup - I had that exact toy, the plane would often fail to turn around after the launch and come back at the carrier backwards. It came with a few pouches of line lubricant you'd run up and down the cable/ fishing line.
It was pretty fun.
I had about every flying toy I could get my hands on.
Vertibird, a battery operated deal you'd spin in circles called the super flash.....
as I got older they got more complicated realistic and better - Cox Centurion.....

I remember when Sharper Imagine catalog came out in the early 1980's and they were selling a RC helicopter. I drooled over that thing.
I always wanted one of those as a kid, had a VertiBird.
I caught my kid and the neighbors son attempting to cut down bamboo point blank with their red Ryder’s earlier this week… that quote was all I could think of to chastise themoh like Ralphie in "A Christmas Story" movie.. you'll shoot your eye out kid!

Did you give them shooting glasses and tell them to carry on?
I suggested cans for shooting and a saw for the bamboo.. haha. Definitely need shooting glasses. I swear a red ryder is more dangerous than a .22. I had a bb bounce off a water bottle and come back and hit me.
So I went over to the house I grew up in, where the daughter and her husband are living now, and took a picture in one of the toy closets.

Here's my mom's boyfriend Mike on Christmas morning helping to put it together.

Ive spoken of him earlier. He owned 4 different planes while they were a couple and we flew everywhere.
He ran a metalworking company that made simple and complex parts for a number of industries including aviation and this connection allowed me to fly in an astonishing number of planes including WW 2 warbirds.
Great memories.
