Arx Maintenance Dose on New Motors.....

So If I use ARx on two new motors from the get-go, and from now on as long as I own my vehicles during every oil change...

Would I need to do the clean/rinse/clean/rinse blah blah blah routine ?

I am thinking based on what I read here, that ARx cleaning is for those motors that either have been neglected, or been designed to be a sludg-a-matic and require the "treatment".

I am using a good oil, vehicle is 90% highway miles, good filter and am thinking that I should be good to go with mainenance doses on the OCI...

Thoughts please ?

I do beleave that some oil is subjected to pretty high heat during the break in process. Rings seating with cylinder walls, bearings as tight as they ever will be. There has to be some internal friction. Milkeage on a new car usually improves over the first 5 to 10K miles. Therefor I have got to believe that some deposits will form early on. I would think that a maintenance dose might not be a bad thing from the get go.

From what I gather you are probably better off going with Lubecontrol LC20 from the get go.

I concur with bobo.

Auto-rx may help clean out casting junk, but I have read that in reality, most new engines are quite clean, there isnt so much sand and fines in the engines anymore. This is why honda can state a 10k mile OCI for break-in, etc. As a maintenance plan for sludge-prone engines or engines with questionable care, its a clear perfect choice.

But if you 'control' your lube, it wont break down as readily into harmful byproducts.

I wouldnt use LC until the first couple thousand miles are over, at least. I recall reading that guidance on the old bottles or maybe even the website!
