ARX and GC didn't mix

I have done what surfstar said with GC and Auto-RX. With mixing and heating, the two liquids will fully mix and stay mixed thereafter. It's true that they won't mix quickly on their own when one is poured into the other. Doesn't matter...engines are like heated blenders of the crankcase oil.

JAG: Did you happen to throw it in the freezer after you saw them combine?

Auto-Rx will blend with German Castrol and perform fine I just sent you a response to your PM and i will say again "IMO" Group 111 Oil's over all better than esterfied oil.

Our winters tend to be very cold and dry. I work a 10 hour night shift and my car sits overnite outside with no plug ins. Typically Dec thru Feb, our night temps will be below 0 F. It's normal of us to see stretches of 7-10 days of -10 to -20 F lows and you can even throw in a -30 once in awhile. There is no doubt in my mind the the car starts faster and smoother with the GC versus dino 5w30. I notice with the maintenance dose of GC that my oil stays "greener" longer and eventually turns to an almost red color when I drain it. I notice this red tint in the oil with all my cars that have the maintenance dose of rx in them (even those not running GC). I also notice a dark coating on my dipsticks. It's not vanish. I can only conclude that it's the rx polar binding to the metals in the engine (maybe thats a stretch).

Just a little common sense here. ARX will suspend in any motor oil at the desired treat ratio, whether it be a maintenance dose or the more concentrated cleaning ratio. Even the cleaning ratio is only a 6% addition to the oil. So a small splash of any oil into the measuring cup to rinse the ARX is likely insufficient to use as a rinse aid.

For better results warm up the ARX bottle in hot water before measuring into a plastic cup. At 100 degrees F. very little will remain on the walls of the measuring cup. Tip of the day.
