It's truly amazing how we ALL are sucked into the phone! It's not just kids, it;s middle-aged people like me and I still have a level of shock at how many seniors are all in on their phones. I'm 50 and single and when on a date I make sure I am not engaging my phone at all. I even start off with hey, I'd turn it off totally if it weren't for kids. If a woman on a date can't keep off her phone, I'M OUT! So impersonal.

Example: I was at $$$ restaurant on a first date a few months ago. She wasn't for me but we had a great date and laughed a lot and talked a ton. We even got deep enough I guessed she was Puerto Rico....and that is kryptonite for me. She was! Lights end up going out in the whole restaurant and we stayed an additional hour just yapping and we got to hang out and have wine with our waitress who was an awesome young college kid. Waitress askes how long we have been together and we answer first date. She's shocked and was like I figured you guys were married and asked if we noticed the couple a few tables over. We didn't. They were on a first date as well. The waitress explained the guy got pissed because the "B" her words, was on her phone the entire date. Guy waits til food comes; eats; goes to bathroom and ditches her! :ROFLMAO:

I'm older school and have never done that but I can't blame the guy and I found it hilarious. If it were me, I'd be more up front and say, I'm out; loose my number and pay the bill.

Not me. I purposely got a flip phone so that device would continue to be only a phone and a tool not an instrument destined to control my communication skills. When alien anthropologists discover our tiny cosmic spec this instrument might tell them a lot about our fragile and addictive behaviors.

I got no internet on my samsung S7, but I can use work apps if needed when I have wifi. otherwise it's just a phone aswell. I'd like buttons like a flip phone, but those don't run android or apple stuff I occasionally need
