Well, mine are.
Not from being arrested mind you.
Everytime I think of the perfect crime, this fact haunts me.

I had my fingerprints taken when I applied to be a cop when I was 20. I was turned down because of my bad eyesight. I always wondered if they kept my fingerprints or tossed them. this was ten years ago

Numerous consulting contracts for school districts / proximity to kids have put my prints into more DOJ databases than I have fingers.

The lady at the livescan station knows me by name... I've gotten really good at the "roll" technique to make it go quicker.

I hear you about the "perfect crime" bit. Every time the id rears its head I get to contemplate how many keystrokes it would take to bring me up on the big screen.

Same here in Texas.

Yes, twice actually. INS fingerprinted me when I was 9 maybe 10 when I got my green card and 1.5 years ago they printed me again when I applied for citizenship.

Wouldn't the perfect crime involve not leaving any fingerprints? And if you did not your own? If it was perfect of coarse.

Never managed that. Could only ever get one cheek on the scanner.

OTOH: Somewhere in the dusty archives of the army, there are a set of my prints from my mis-spent youth when I worked for a defense contractor that built some far out stuff for something called Nike Zeus.

"Since then, I've burned my fingertips with acid, so no more prints."

There was an episode of SUPERMAN where they said that didn't work.

That reminded me. I was indeed fingerprinted for a super dooper clearance.
