The online replacements are pretty useless either having mostly outdated listings from businesses that have been out of business for over 20 years, or search results giving such ambiguous results as to be mostly worthless. Google search is not much better. A new AutoZone store opened not too far away 2 years ago but because I rarely drive on that street, I didn't know about it until now when I happened to drive by. Back in day when a new yellow pages arrived I always checked out the junk yards and auto parts store listings to see if any new places opened up. Around here the book was 3 inches thick. Are they still published anywhere?

Saw some in the lobby of my old office 2 years ago, commented to the girl that was getting onto the elevator with me "how in the world are they still in business?"
WE still get a thin one thrown in our driveway once a year. It really amazes me at those who choose to advertise in something that goes right in to the recycling bin. If we need services it's a recommendation on the neighborhood Facebook page, Yelp, or Google reviews where we make our determination where we are going to spend our money or who to call for services (plumbers, etc.)
Yeah, I still get them every year, and White Pages too.......never look at either. Well, I do check the white pages to see if my name is still in there, ala Steve Martin in The Jerk! 
If you have a phone you automatically get a basic listing, landline phone of course. I assume landlines are still the primary phone service for businesses so why NOT more yellow pages advertising?
I think they stopped a couple years ago in my area. I think they started having not just ONE yellow page but multiple knock off, and that trashed their business model and people started realizing that they are not useful anyways, and stopped advertising there.
I think in the last 20 years only retirees in their 70s and 80s were using them, they probably are all dead by now.

Printed media is almost outdated as soon as its printed, if you're looking for something in your area Google it. People need to learn to be more flexible, adapt, and accept technology and change. Stop the "back in my day" thinking. Those times are gone, take the time and attempt to learn new things.

We still get them but the size has decreased tremendously. Just got one last week for the yearly issue. We keep them we don’t use them but we keep them.

We got a yellow pages book about a month ago. I was surprised.
Every time I go into a store, I see a landline phone on the counter, desk or wall. I can't imagine any business without a landline. The voice quality of cellular is mediocre at best and often pretty poor. Whenever a friend calls me on my landline from his cell, I constantly have to ask him, what was that, can you repeat that. If he calls my cell, it's like I can barely make out what he says.
I get a small version dropped on my driveway once or twice a year. The recycle bin is in my garage and it basically goes from driveway to bin as I walk into my house.
Half the time it seems like a business' information isn't accurate when you go online to their web page so I have no reason to believe that a book will be more accurate.

The online version may have 20 year old information. At least the print version is current.
