Are these coils "fake"?

Unless they are lying, it's a genuine part.

It's coincidental that I heard of "Big Tiger Parts" for the first time only yesterday....during a parts search.

FYI: Other part listings were headed with the word "genuine", but a completely different name was listed as "manufacturer".
In this case, Big Tiger is listed as the manufacturer.
If it's "double talk", you might be better off buying from a dealership.
On the other hand, it might be worth a $35 gamble.

How much is one from a dealership or dealership on-line parts dept.?

Would I buy an alleged OEM part from Big Tiger Parts on Amazon (or eBay), nope. Look for an actual car dealer that sells OEM parts online.

While I agree with you on the Amazon aspect, there are actual dealer parts departments with ebay stores and scores of solid OEM parts resellers on ebay. I've been buying OEM parts on ebay for over 20 years. Have to do your research.

Unfortunatley even ra can have fakes. Even parts stores can have fakes of oem parts as some scum will swap the real part for a fake and return it. Only going to the dealer for important things works.

Have never gotten a counterfeit part from RA in over two decades. And fully returnable if not satisfied. While some Amazon and ebay vendors can be shady, the boogeyman isn't hiding in every single closet...

Online Hyundai part is $155 with a 'discount'. Part number

27301-2B110.

Interwebs say the coil must have the -2B110 part number or else.... lol.

I will take the plunge on the Tiger coil.

5 minutes to change out, if if doesn't work Amazon will take the return. Sucks to see so many retailers selling fake parts and it seems everything is faked these days.

None of the Rock Auto coils have the -2B110 part number but may work, RA says no returns.

I’ve been burned by RA. Parts come from multiple non RA owned warehouse’s from various sources. Luck of the draw. I do still buy non critical parts from them. Recently got a genuine SFK wheel bearing.

I was burned by a counterfeit VW part from Slamazon. Looked remarkably like a real VW oil filter element, but when used and changed out, was hardened and crumbly. Not at all the experience I had with genuine parts from the dealer.

In your case, its either going to work or not. I don't think it can harm to try.

Ive never seen a "fake" coil with OEM engravings. Not to say it can't happen. They usually dont bother because the fakes sell just fine to people wanting to save $$. I've had good luck with name brand aftermarket coils. No names I've had 1 die pretty quick but it was a $10 throwaway spare.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
I got a fake set of Amazon "Genuine Toyota" coils for my 01 Tundra. Markings were identical to the originals.
Got a misfire after a short time, probably by 200 miles. Put the originals back in.
The seller was long gone...

Pay once, cry once.

RA has a lot of stuff

My complaints with them

Web page has a learning curve…for me

Never find parts that come from same warehouse

Get beat up on shipping

Having 3 Toyota SUVs my OEM parts come from Bell Lexus in AZ

Amazon and Fleabay aren’t reliable sources

Comments welcome on Parts Geek ?

Got the new coil and it works well. It has all of the Hyundai and Kia markings on it and looks like it is constructed in exactly the same way as the original. Same weight and feel of the rubber sections. Came in a Hyunda Kia parts box with the part number on the label. If it is a fake it is a darn good one.
