Are Thailand Made Filters Fine?

I went for the Baldwin this time. Previously used Purolator Premium Plus. Havent seen the PuerOne nor the Mobil 1 filters. I think Link International '(in Qld) import the K&N, but again not seen it except on thir website. The auto stores sell according to their market and it would appear there is not much demand for the more expensive filters.

Cheap filters start at $6aud (FSA is one of these) with the average $10-$15 for the major Aussie made vehicles.

I think you'll find Rocket Industries (NSW) do.
They are the importer/distributor for K&N car air filters.

As I said to you once before, having opened a number of Indonesian made Donaldsons which are made in a joint venture plant with ADR Industries who also make FSA, I haven't been overly impressed with the consistency of manufacture. I've also had a number with faulty ADBV's. (and now a US/Champion made Donaldson P169071)
Personally, if the choice was between FSA and Baldwin, I'd use the Baldwin.

Tdi, you are right. Link import Motul oils.

The place I bought the filter from is mainly into truck and large equipment. They did not suggest running the FSA for extended drains.

Funny thing, my son was in a hurry to do a oil change on his car and went to Repco. Their Ryco filter was much dearer than the Balwin I bought (same filter).

pricing is strange, isn't it.
I can buy a Purolator L30001 (Ryco Z9 equivalent) for Au$3.50 !
