Are Pickup Truck Drivers Dangerous ?

They are not as bad as Tesla drivers. They are always going 20 mph faster than traffic and weaving from one side call the way across 4 lanes to the other side. The next worse group of idiots are mustang drivers.
I only see a few Teslas on the road. I think most of them are driving around the limit, and that means I'm passing them, but I'm driving in like the 85th percentile, so... I'm probably considered the aggressive one.

you forgot the other tesla drivers the ones trying to get that last mile out of the battery doing 55mph in the fast lane.
I mean if they were smart they would just draft a semi or something.

Although the first thing I thought of from the title was "Are guns dangerous?"

IMO its the driver not the vehicle.. although granted bigger vehicles = bigger damage.

I often do see them going pretty fast on the highway, but they never seen to tailgate... probably because of the radar cruise control.

Pickup drivers tend to drive a bit aggressively in general but the worst ones here are the young girls in sedans. Twice in the last year I have been passed on the right shoulder in a 50 mile zone. I am doing 60 and they are passing on right shoulder doing 75. PMS running at fever pitch I guess. Last week was passed by one on a country non shoulder road posted 50 mph. I am doing 58 and they blew by me at about 95 or 100 as best I could estimate. Must have a death wish for themselves or others. People are disconnected from driving in modern cars and just can't wait a minute longer to get wherever they are going. Had another fatal accident two miles from where I live last week. It is getting worse.

Since I started to ride a motorcycle two years ago I have noticed most full size truck drivers think they’re the king of the road. The brodozer bros are the worst with riding up your ass in the fast lane.
I pretty much stopped riding my road bicycle because of close calls with cars and trucks. The worst by far is guys driving brodozers who think a bicycle has zero rights to any part of the roadway. Many times I had a guy pass me at 50-60 MPH and see how close he could get to me without hitting me. Let me tell you, a brodozer truck passing you at 12" and 60 MPH will instantly make some pretty foul language fly out of your mouth. How do I know they did it on purpose? Because there was no opposing traffic in the other lane.

I forgot some smilies my BMW mentioning post was a joke.. everyone knows only 10% of BMW's come with blinkers. :sneaky:
And the ones that do, tend to leak at the blinker fluid level sensor, and the blinker fluid expansion tank, not to mention the fluid is $100 per liter!!!

Their blinker plan for the future.

I drive in the middle of the day a lot for work, and I see accidents all the time - I think to myself - if there are only 2 people on a wide open road, how on earth do they run into each other?

I have observed all kinds of craziness by all different types of vehicles, but the most common seem to be young females in compact cars - while texting. They will tailgate hard - while texting. Its insane.

Good idea! Road bike on a road is a constant near-death experience. I have a Ti Kish frame I built up and have wider rims with gravel knobbies. I ride a lot in VT after mud season and the roads get hard. Credit to the Vermonters! as I've always found them to be respectful of bikers. But that is really the only set of roads I'm comfortable with. I ride road bike for MTB training and get 2k or so a year in. If it were safe to actually hit the road?? I'd have a lot more road bike miles.

Yes, I am referring to those lawn care services and tree trimmers driving P/U trucks. They enter the subdivision at a high rate of speed. There are some of them without auto insurance.

Im more comfortable with brodozers driving aggressively than with grannies or teenage girls being totally unaware that they‘re driving like maniacs. At least the trucks are somewhat paying attention.

My most common run ins on the mean streets happen with Dodge Caravans for some odd reason.
