So I'm not the only one. Maybe I deserve it more than you GN. Good to hear from you

I've never ever hit the notify button on you. I did try and make peace with you, but you told me to quote "don't give me that [censored] I'm a better man then you bull [censored]".

As to Arco, I (along with many others) simply call him on his preposterous statements.

You guys don't like the heat? Get out of the kitchen.

Spring pressures at the cam are higher on pushrod engines. The springs have to have more pressure to control the weight of the pushrods and you're going through a 1.5-1.6 ratio rocker arm.

You can get away with less ZDDP in the OHC setups because most of the time the springs are weaker, many use roller lifters/rockers, and the flat tappet versions use a larger base.

It's a non issue with me, I use Redline oil in everything now. The cam failures are real, the catalytic convertor failures have yet to be proven.

He's alive!!!!!

I'll be running RL on Monday! Going to give it a shot.

That sucks bud, I think many like your experience-derived posts.

Experience scmerience. Buick also has stated some preposterous claims regarding thin oil, and I (along with many others) took him to task on it.

Hey Buick, I tried making peace with you and you basically told me to [censored] off.

"Don't give me that "man enough to walk away" nonsense. More like acting like a little girl and running away because you know you're full of it." - BucikGN

Now, who's the bigger man here?

Who's the one who ran away? haven't seen you around here lately my friend. I'd be happy to stop this non-sense; I've already tried, but as everyone can see, the above quote is what it got me. And then you continue talking [censored].

I can't believe you accused me of trying to get you banned.

His experience with thinner oil was in a turbocharged 3.8L V6 engine that makes more HP than an entire fleet of Honda's. I'm not sure why anybody would be surprised about thicker oil providing more protection under those conditions?????

That is, I've never seen the logic in "taking him to task" over his experience, since I think it must be realized that his application steps well outside of the "normal" conditions most people on this site operate their engines under. He is making 3x more power than stock, cooking the oil with a turbo and doing it all in an engine that was never designed to operate at its current power density.

And while his example may be "extreme", it does deserve acknowledgement, but one must consider the use and application when considering it.

And I'm in complete agreement that a GN engine making 600 hp requires thick oil! I've said so consistently.

I don't agree that an Acura TL requires a minimum 3.5 cP HT/HS viscosity, or assertions that 5w-20 oil in modern engines speced for it will wear out sooner compared to running a thicker oil in those engines. And we have plenty of evidence from police and taxi fleet use and members here to substantiate that. I recall some heated debates about that around the October to December of 2007 time frame.

Here, how about this: I APOLOGIZE TO EVERYONE, specifically Arco and Buick, if my version of reality personally offends you. Seriously. I can be, and am from time to time, an [censored].

But when you make claims I don't agree with, I'll disagree with you! Fair enough? And I'll keep it civil and non-personal.

And vice versa. If you think the practices I've used to take engines over 200,000 miles isn't good enough, or whatever, fire away.

This is the only response you will get from me. Stay out of my business, put me on ignore, pretend I don't exist or I will be the one pressing the notify button this time. I don't like you I won't make peace with you so stay away from my posts and I'll do the same and let you go around pretending to know something about oil. If you reply back to this I'm hitting the notify button as you have so many times.

Hey people its Christmas time how about a group hug, or a cocktail? BTW nice apology, good on you!

Seasons Greetings Guys!

Hit the notify button. I don't care. I just apologized to you!

I HAVE NEVER ONCE HIT THE NOTIFY BUTTON FOR YOU.

NEVER

You are a liar to make that claim.

To everyone else, thank you for the nice words. It's good to be back though I fear it won't be for long. Back on topic for now on.

BuickGN,

Drew did try to apologize to you. It's there in black and white.

Why are you ignoring that?

Both of you have good experience/knowledge to share with the board - we can't go on loosing folks like you over stuff like this. The board becomes weaker for it....

I don't care to argue, this has been done before. He does this public apology thing and then mis quotes, puts words in my mouth, follows me around provoking me, and flat out lies about the things I say. He does not comprehend the most basic workings of a car yet constantly challenges me. It's all a show for the moderators. I'm not mad, I just choose to not associate with people like that.
