The ones that are made by Wix with 6 big circle inlet holes are pretty nice for the money. Are the ones you are getting like this?

Made by Wix? Haven't seen any DW made by Wix with 6 big holes. It was posted here that Fram was supposed to be making several DW applications, but haven't seen any of those either posted here or at AAP. First time I've heard anything about a DW made by Wix.

All DW's posted here have been made in China by an unidentified manufacturer.

And unless included in an oil/filter promo, with all the reputable, readily available, very reasonably prices Made in USA oil filters, I won't be buying a DriveWorks. As for the salesman's hearsay, that's why he's called a salesman. Who knows, perhaps he's getting a kick back or spiff to push the China made DW?

As the link below shows, many DW's been used and posted on Bitog.

I think you might have gotten the AAP Driveworks confused with the Microguard from Oreilly's. The Microguard is WIX made and identical to a Napa Silver.

As mentioned the DW is Chinese made. The construction looks to be comparable to WIX, but IIRC, the efficiency is nothing to write home about. I want to say they don't even have much info out on them..

Yes I did get them mixed up. It's the microguard made by Wix I was thinking.

I used one that I got at AA as part of an OC special they were running two weeks ago. I think I paid about $21 or$22 for ajug of QSUD and a Driveworks filter. I used it in my 2001 Cherokee with the 4.0'along with Pennzoil 10w-40 HM. It looked like a well made filter and did have Made in China printed on it. Seemed a bit heavier gauge than the standard Purolators I normally use.
