I'm not sure what the mileage rating on the NAPA Platinum is though, but I suppose given it's similar construction to the Ultra it might just be good for up to 20k as well.

??????
Pennz conventional "dino" easily lasts 15,000
Shoot - - the cheapest SuperTech will go for 15,000 miles in "easy" engines,
like the 4.6 Ford engine.
Those don't care what you pour into them, or how long you run it.

Run a Fram Ultra and do the full year, it can handle 20k.
I'm open to this idea, but the Napa Platinum is just sitting there on the shelf staring at me...
The Napa Platinum should be good and up for the task in this operation.
I share your filter concern. I've got STP S2808ML, Fram XG9688 and Mobil1 M1-104A on the shelf for this possible task. I wasn't going to attempt running an OEM filter more than 7500 miles when the filter itself doesn't list a mileage rating.

The only way I'd use it is if I could grab it like some members did at AZ on closeout. Otherwise at the current prices I'll let it collect dust on the store shelves.

Yeah exactly demarpaint..
The Valvoline Modern Engine at the same price is not selling either.

AutoZone had no chance of selling at their price … and I'm surprised Walmart has not done another Roll Back (or two) … If XOM had given up … Mobil plants could have easily repacked bulk volume into EP containers by now … it sells quickly around here
Yesterday my AZ had nothing on clearance but STP 10w30 and I have plenty Delo/Delvac for OPE now …

I heard of a few people scoring it at AZ on closeout. All I was able to get was PYB 10W30 in quarts. The AP was collecting dust at their full retail price in my area. My bet is XOM will be dropping prices on it, or dropping it from their product line sometime in the future.
