Anyone seen one of these before?

Was walking down Front Street in Lahaina today and saw this. Not sure but I think I saw R-12 on it somewhere. Is this a stock machine or is it an attempt at a BWM chopper?

Here's another picture I took while on the big island. It's the 18' surf at Hapuna beach.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong when attempting to post these pics?

Yep. BMW's unsuccessful venture into cruiserdom. They should stick with what they know.

The one in your picture appears to have a few modifications. The handlebars, exhaust, and seat don't look stock.

With that said, I originally hated the R1200C, but it kind of grew on me. I admit that the faired version still looks kind of strange.

Interesting note: Typically, the BMW lineup is identifiable by the engine displacement size. E.g., the R1150GS is a previous generation bike, and the R1200GS is the current generation. However, the R1200C engine has more in common with the oilhead R1100 boxers than the current roundup of hex-head R1200 boxers.
