Curious if there are any clay target shooters out there? I enjoy sporting, 5 stand, skeet & trap. Also recently tried Helice and am planning to try Compak this year. Currently shooting a 32” Beretta 688 and 30” Browning Citori Trap. Looking to possibly upgrade my trap gun this year if I can find a nice 682X and possibly purchasing a 30” CZ target SxS.

Took up skeet a couple of months ago and discovered I have a knack for it. A guy who volunteers at the rescue invited me to shoot with him. First time out I shot a 20 and 17 and have shot a 23. I have my dad's 1970 Charles Daly/Miroku O/U 26" skeet gun that helps. Watched a couple of YT videos on aimpoint etc. Wish I had tried it sooner but I've never lived near a skeet range until this place. It's a bit expensive, a round is $11 and a box of shells is $10. It's nice using dad's gun.

Have been for decades. 23 average for Trap. Favorite gun is an 1100 with a 29" barrel and X-tra full trap choke. I just shoot it better than the better O/Us I've tried. I shoot Sporting Clays with a BSA 20 gauge O/U. Makes it more challenging. I can't hit the little aspirin pills very well though.

I used to really enjoy doing this. I have a spring loaded thrower and we would spend hours shooting clays out of the sky.

But.... Living in a state that does not like guns has caused the price of ammo to skyrocket. I had to stop shooting and hang onto my ammo.

My nemesis is the springing teal, to this day I don't remember ever hitting ONE!

Been shooting Sporting clays for many years now. I have a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon .410
and a Browning CXS in 20ga. Enjoy the sub gauges quite a lot. Dont find I need a 12ga anymore,
and at 74, dont need the sore shoulder!

I have a Browning BPS 12 gauge and love it for the bottom shell discharge but like you say, the 12 g kick is not pleasant at 68yo. Local shop also had a Browning BPS in 20 gauge that my son talked me out of getting, saying it’s not a real shotgun and I didn’t want to get into it at the store. Wish I had it instead of the 12G. Might get a single shot 20 gauge for clays. Would love a 20G over/under if they make such a gun.

New recreational clay shooter here. Wish I had gotten into it years ago. Not competition, just my son and I flinging clays using a Caldwell claymore thrower at a state shotgun range

Hoping for it to warm up a bit and the snow to melt and I'll be making a trip out East to shoot trap.
