However Im pretty sure it is enough to cause headaches and bad vision sometimes.

It comes and goes.

Anyone else have this sort of thing?

Yes. It used to be 20/10 but has "deteriorated" slightly to 20/20. I have slight astigmatism too, but nothing requiring glasses. I do see a halo type effect around lights, particularly at night (relatively common with astigmatism, or so I've only recently learned, but absent in those without it).

I'm prone to eye strain easily, and tension and migraine headaches that often follow (further exaggerated by cervical soft tissue damage that has never fully healed).

At home I use very low lighting, unless reading. I also block out as much natural light as I can.

Laser surgery may be effective at correcting it, but its a pretty expensive remedy that is hard to justify when I "see" perfectly and need neither glasses nor contacts; particularly when a side effect of the surgery is that most who have it will require "reading glasses" before they otherwise would.

As off the wall as this may sound, adult onset Type 2 Diabetes can cause symptoms similar to what you describe. Even in the absense of any other symptoms. An elevated glucose can produce blurred vision, which often goes together with an elevated blood pressure causing headache. Sounds like a stretch, but it does happen.

I started having those EXACT symptoms around 2007. Prior to that my eyes were always very strong and I had a nickname of "Eagle Eyes" when we were hunting because I could ID waterfowl from a long way off. Around 2007( late )they started to hurt( behind the eyes and to back of skull ) and blur when watching TV or using a computer. Like you no problem with eye tests or anything but my eyes got tired very easy from time to time for no reason.

Then in March 2009 I woke up one morning to EXCRUCIATING eye pain. It felt like someone was in there trying to push my left eye out of the socket. Over the next 2-3 days it got worse and worse( self employed with no insurance so I generally tried to hold out vs seeking medical attention )until I woke up and could see nothing out of that eye and the pain had even exceeded excruciating. It was like looking through a glass of milk.

That was enough to send me to an eye specialist and be darned with the cost. He put me on steroid eye drops but it wasnt helping. I went to another specialist and he was dumfounded the 1st guy did not send me for an MRI. I finally had an MRI and it was confirmed = Multiple Sclerosis.

I am not saying you have MS so please don't panic. I am sure you don't. I am just saying the symptoms you are experiencing also happened to me and I was told they were an early sign so I want it to be in your head in case it gets worse to get it looked into. If your eye pain gets worse and will not go away and/or your vision becomes blurry/cloudy/milky constantly you better get to someone( eye specialist or a Neurologist )and get checked out( MRI )ASAP. Severe eye pain and the blurred/cloudy/milky vision are very common signs of MS.

I have the relapsing kind so that is why it came and went over those couple years between the 1st early signs and the major relapse that lead to a diagnosis. I lost some vision( center field - overall it is back about 85-90% )in that left eye and am now out of work due to the MS. However, I was lucky and it was caught fairly early. I got on the MS med's and it has helped stop any further problems. To this point I have had no symptoms other than the eye problem and a complete loss of energy. I have not had one relapse which is great.

Again, don't panic as I am sure it is not MS. Just keep this in mind though because it is very similar to how it hit me. As I said if it worsens get it checked. I hate MRI's but the sooner you discover it and get on the med's the better "IF" it is MS.
