This tire for an older Nissan '87 Maxima in 195/60 15 size. I am looking moderate performance and decent ride quality . It should be able to handle light snow. Ride can be firm, but not a jarring ride over expansion joints and ruts.

They are ok, but I have a friend who had a bad experience with one. They seem to fit what you are looking for. A lot of people are using the Altimax instead.

What happened to your friends G019 tire? Are you talking about the Altimax HP? I've heard this tire may have slightly less turn-in response (more compliant sidewall) and a bit less ultimate grip, but is has better ride quality.

My 2¢

I have the previous generation G009 if that matters. I like them, good balance of performance and wear. They decent in the snow. For the price you can't beat them.

A quick follow up on my tire hunt. I went with the G019 in a 195/60 -15 . Got them on a buy 3 get 1 free, so I thought it was a good deal. I only have about 150 miles on them , but I driven them in a variety of conditions.

Overall I am pretty satisfied: good steering response turn-in, good road holding dry, good in wet. Surprisingly good in light and medium snow and slick slush. The tire has a somewhat firm ride, just a hair more than the LH-30 Affinty they replaced, which I think is good trade-off for the increase in handling. Time and miles will tell with the wear.
