Anyone ever heard of this stuff?

You might catch more flack for posting the 10w30 grade, rather than a touted 20K oil with Silicon Carbide in it

How does the SiC work anyway? Is it like Ceratec or boron?

Sounds like its similar.
And those prices aren't too much worse than what we Canadians pay for synthetic oil.
30000 miles though is a bit of a stretch. Hopefully someone will guinea pig this stuff and get a used oil analysis done so we know whether to laugh or take notice.

At least it does have some data posted on the company site.I'm just waiting on some of our resident chemists etc to take a look.and post their thoughts.

Right right, 30K lol my bad. After 10-15K claims they just becomes a blur

SiC is traditionally used as an abrasive, so there has got to be some other form used like nanoparticles or a precursor where SiC is formed in situ. Let's see if anyone else in the lube game is willing to play with it and perhaps offer more credibility while they're at it

Your right about carbide. It's what tips all my saw blades and my concrete drill bits,so I'm not understanding its use in an oil.
And the part where they claim is soaks into metal from 1 to 6 microns deep makes me think hogwash.
It's almost like a combination of z-max and ceratec all bundled up into 1.
I know ceratec works, including a torn down engine that used it and mos2 so I'm confident in its abilities however I'd need to see the same from this stuff to be convinced.
If someone else is buying I'll try it in my lawnmower.

SiC would be a great product to add to an engine to destroy it, like the engines in the gas guzzlers buy back program were destroyed. I don't know what they actually pored into those engines but SiC would certainly do the job.

Maybe a shot of snake oil with reglar oil would work as well.
I didn't read all the makers claims, will it bring me coffee in bed as well?.

Claud.

I have never heard of Silicon carbide used in engines, except as an alternative way to put cylinder bore liners in an aluminum block.

I wouldn't try it.
